Louisiana man claims that Prozac caused his skin to turn darker after he began using it last year.
Tyler Monk shared his TikTok condition and it’s creating intrigue.
The 34-year-old father of two told Inside Edition that his complexion began to slowly change to a dark gray tone last year after he started taking the widely used antidepressant.
“My wife started to notice on my face and on my neck, my ears and also my hands are real bad,”Monk said.
The transition was slow at first but he began to darken over time. Monk claims that his condition is still a mystery to his doctors.
Dr. Doris Day, a Dermatologist, believes the condition may be caused by Prozac photosensitivity or “another chemical that he’s been exposed to.”
“It’s just stressful not knowing really what’s going on and why my situation hasn’t improved,”Monk said.
Monk now uses social media to reach out to others who are going through the same transition.
According to the couple they discovered two others with the same condition, and planned a Zoom Call in the hope of getting more information.
