Live-Action Sequel To The Aristocats in the Works At Disney

Will Gluck and Keith Bunin are set to write the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated “The Aristocats,”According to a person with knowledge of the project.

Gluck will also be producing the project through his Olive Bridge Entertainment banner. The project is still in its early stages and it’s not yet known if it will be made for Disney+, or theatrical.

This book was first published in 1970. “The Arisotcats” centers on a family of aristocratic cats, and how an alley cat acquaintance helps them after a butler has kidnapped them to gain his mistress’s fortune that was intended to go to them. It was a success at the box office and earned $191 million with a budget of only $4 million.

In recent decades, Disney has been increasingly drawn to its own nostalgia favorites. Specifically, they’ve been taking their beloved animated classics, remaking them in live-action (or mostly live-action), and producing one blockbuster smash after another.

Gluck was most recently director “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway”This film was released in the summer of 2009. Gluck directed the film. “Peter Rabbit” film. Bunin previously worked for Disney and has written “Onward”Pixar
