Korea Box Office: Thor: Love and Thunder’ $10 million Opening Weekend

The latest Marvel movie “Thor: Love and Thunder”With a $10.0 million gross, the film topped the South Korean box-office with an impressive performance. This was half of the country’s cinema revenue for the weekend.

“Thor”According to Kobis data, which is the tracking service of the Korean Film Council, it played more than 2,000 screens. It amassed $14.8million over its entire five-day opening run.

The score was sufficient to allow us to fly beyond “Top Gun Maverick”Even though it is not moving as fast, the latter still commands 33% of total market. Tom Cruise’s car earned $6.58M in its third weekend of the Korean boxoffice, for an overall $38.5M.

The power play of two U.S. tentpoles helped to keep the overall weekend score at $20.1million, which is near the top end of a range in which Korean box office has settled from mid-May.

The polarization is striking. The top two titles were defeated by all the other titles.

Park Chan-wook’s “Decision to Leave,”The film, which had high hopes but was disappointed in the end, made $1.71 million its second weekend. Its second weekend earned $6.88million, a 32% drop from its opening frame.

“The Roundup”The slowdown continued. It was fourth in the sales charts with $714,000 and finally crossed the $100 million milestone. It has sold 12.6 million tickets and earned $100.3 million since May 18.

Fifth place “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One”For a cumulative total of $22.0 millions, earned $461,000
