Scarlett Johansson and Colin Josts’ baby sure does have a unique name, and the couple received quite a bit of attention for naming their little guy Cosmo. Kelly Clarkson spoke out about Cosmo’s love for the name in a recent interview. She also made a cute connection to Rose Johansson.
During an episode of “The Ladies Talk”, the two women got to chat about their children. The Kelly Clarkson Show. Clarkson then asked Clarkson: Black Widow Johansson explains to actresses how they came up with the name Cosmo.
We just put a bunch letters together, oh gosh! Yes, it seemed like a great way to refresh.[ing]It was just so charming to me. Then, it was loved by all our friends. And then Colin’s mom had a little bit of a harder time with it. She was like ‘This seems..’ It wasn’t like sitting [with her]. For a while, she kept suggesting different versions. I was like ‘No, he’s already here, he’s out.’
Jost explained that a while back Cosmo was not a name his mother loved.And thought it was a “hippie thing.”She eventually accepted.
Clarkson, however, enthusiastically expressed her love for the name. She also mentioned a floral link between Cosmo and Rose.
That is what I love. Because your daughter Rose is Rose? My daughter is River Rose, that’s the only reason I knew that. But also I love that they’re both flowers! They are both hated by my children, but I love them so much!
To which Johansson happily confirmed the connection, explaining:
It’s not common for people to make this connection. Cosmo is a sweet little flower with different shades of yellow and orange. That’s why my daughter liked it [the name].
Johansson’s daughter Rose is 8 years old. Romain Dauriac, her ex-husband, had Rose with her. Some things can be achieved by having an 8-year old.
