Juan Pablo Raba Joins John Cena & Alison Brie In ‘Freelance’

EXCLUSIVE: Narcos, PeppermintAnd Coyote star Juan Pablo Raba is joining John Cena and Alison Brie in director Pierre Morel’s (Taken) action-comedy FreelanceWe can tell you.

Filming is now underway in Colombia on the movie, which follows a special forces operator (Cena) who decides to retire from the Army and start a family back in the states. After years of struggling to make ends meet in suburban America, including paying his mortgage, dropping out from school, and having to eat backyard barbecues, he finally decides to retire to provide security for Brei, a journalist who is interviewing a dictator who may have ordered the attack against him and his men. The interview is interrupted by a military coup. They are forced to flee into the jungle, where they will have to survive the elements, each other, and the military.

Endurance Media’s Steve Richards is producing alongside Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin.

Richards’ Endurance is co-financing with Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios, which sold the film well at the recent AFM. Jacob Lentz is the film’s writer.Jimmy Kimmel Live!(which marked his debut in feature writing).

Raba appeared recently in the action-thriller The MarksmanLiam Neeson is also featured. TV roles include Ricky Ortiz in the History Channel’s military drama SixGustavo and Gustavo in Netflix’s hit series Narcos. Raba can currently be seen in Netflix’s original Colombian series Distrito SalvajeHe stars in and executive produces the movie.
