Johnny Depp to Star as King Louie XV in Film From Maïwenn

Johnny Depp has found his next project and will star as France’s King Louis XV in the next film from the French director Maïwenn, an individual with knowledge of the project told .

Depp will begin shooting across France later this summer for around three months, and the film is being produced by Pascal Caucheteux and Gregoire Sorlat’s Paris-based Why Not Productions. Wild Bunch International is responsible for international sales.

It was not known what the plot or film title would be. Louis the Beloved was King Louis XV’s name. He had the second longest reign between 1715-1774. However, historians were less friendly to the king, citing corruption as well as costly, futile wars.

The Louis XV film is Depp’s first project since his failed libel lawsuit against the British tabloid Central Recorder, in which a judge ruled that Central Recorder’s claim heWas a “wife-beater” was “substantially true.”Depp was asked by the court to resign following the trial. “Fantastic Beasts”a franchise of films, and has stated more recently that Hollywood is now banning him.

Maïwenn is an actress and a director known for films “Polisse,” “My King”Recentest “DNA,”In which she also stars.

Depp’s latest film “Minamata”Ierlovino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment ILBE and Samuel Goldwyn Films finally released the film in America late last year. The film will also be available on DVD throughout 2022. Andrew Levitas directed the film. Depp plays W. Eugene Smith as a war photographer who traveled to Japan in the 1970s to document the effects of mercury poisoning in coastal communities.
