Joe Biden will briefly transfer power to Kamala Harris during physical

While President Joe Biden is undergoing a physical which includes a colonoscopy and a physical examination, Vice President Kamala Harris will briefly take power.

This procedure is recommended for people over 50.

Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary, stated in a statement that “As was the case when President George W. Bush had the same procedure in 2002 and 2007, and following the process set out in the Constitution, President Biden will transfer power to the Vice President for the brief period of time when he is under anesthesia. The Vice President will work from her office in the West Wing during this time.”

The White House plans to release a summary of Biden’s physical later on Friday. Biden will preside at the annual pardoning ceremony of the Thanksgiving turkey in the Rose Garden before heading to Delaware for the weekend.

Biden’s 79th birthday is Saturday. He was elected the White House’s oldest member of Congress last year.

There will be more.
