Jenna Fischer of the Office Was First Denied This Pam Prop

Interview with ET Canada LiveFischer recalled her initial attempts to acquire a piece of memorabilia that was meaningful from the set. “The Office.”As she explained, “I asked if I could have Pam’s watercolor of Dunder Mifflin and I was told officially from production that I could not have it because it was going to be cataloged as part of the set decoration and it would be stored at NBC.”

The famous watercolor was introduced in Season 3, Episode 17. “Business School,”Pam participates in an art show as a way to fulfill her artistic goals. She invites her coworkers to the event but it is only her manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell), who arrives and compliments her work. He buys Pam’s painting and hangs the piece in the office.

Fischer also mentioned that she was disappointed not to be able bring home the watercolor. This was especially because she had no other important props. She emphasised, “That was really the one thing I wanted.”In an unexpected twist, Phil Shea, show’s prop master, approached Fischer. “As I was leaving, [he] ran up to me and he said, ‘Here, you should have this. I made a color photo of it, they’ll never know,”She elaborated.

She shared the following, much to the delight of her interviewers “I have the original in my house.”
