Jay Leno was hospitalized after sustaining burns in a car fire accident

After suffering burns to his face in a car fire, Jay Leno was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center Los Angeles.

During a visit to the L.A. garage where the 72 year-old collector stores his vehicles, one of Leno’s cars burst into flames unexpectedly, according to TMZ. Leno sustained burns to his left side, which were severe enough to require hospitalization.

The former “Tonight Show”Host confirmed Variety’s news in a statement

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

TMZ reported that the facial burns did not penetrate Leno’s left eye or ear. Following the gasoline fire, Leno is now in stable condition.

Since then, Leno has canceled all his engagements this week, including Sunday’s appearance at The Financial Brand in Las Vegas conference. This was the first hint of the accident. The organizers announced that a “very serious medical emergency” to explain Leno’s absence.

People first traced the development in Leno’s health, providing an email statement to 2022 Forum participants from the Financial Brand.

“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling,”It was stated in the email. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”

Leno’s reps did not immediately respond to ’s request for comment.
