Jay Leno is Released from Burn Center During Recovery

Grossman Burn Center released the comedian, more than seven weeks after he was injured in a forest fire. He will continue his care in the clinic’s outpatient unit.

After Leno’s news, Dr. Peter Grossman, the former doctor, treated Leno. Tonight ShowThe host released the following statement: “I am pleased with Jay’s progress, and I am optimistic that he will make a full recovery.”

Leno was working on one his collectible cars when he got into an accident with a gas flame. Grossman explained to the New York TimesOn Nov. 14, he continued to be a sustained. “deep second-degree burns, with possibly third-degree burns,”It may require skin grafts to fix the burns.

Despite the severity of his injuries, the 72 year-old was still happy. “He’s walking around and he’s cracking jokes. I can tell you he’s incredibly kind to our nursing staff,”Grossman said NBC Los Angeleson Nov. 16. “He’s been appreciative of everybody here and he’s an ideal patient, and one who understands the seriousness of his injury.”
