James advised for Matt to take on the gruesome I’m A Celebrity trials head on – even though they include eating kangaroo testicles.

He stated, “Best advice: Get out there.

“I signed up for them immediately because I wanted to just throw my hat in there.

“For me, boredom was a big thing.”

James, who was a huge hit on the 2018 show, added, “So I stayed busy doing tasks.

“So that’s what I’d recommend to anyone – get stuck in there.”

Central Recorder indicated that Matt could be exempted from certain trials for health reasons.

After his shock signing, Matt appeared set to break an unwelcome I’m A Celebrity Record.

Bookies Betfair have him at 2/1 to be chosen to do the most  Bushtucker Trials ever.

The record is currently held by music producer Naughty Boy, who fans gleefully watched squeal and sulk his way through seven trials in 2021.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Matt Hancock will be returning as a regular face on our TV screens this year after sensationally joining this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! cast.

“The former health secretary is 2/1 to surpass Naughty Boy’s record of seven by doing the most bushtucker trials in history, while he is 4/1 to be the first departure from the jungle.

“Since joining I’m a Celeb, Hancock has been suspended as a Tory MP and he is 10/1 to resign from the position before the New Year. He is 16/1 to win the show, with England legend Jill Scott the 3/1 favourite.”

Outside odds of him becoming the king of jungle are 10/1.

After signing up for SAS Who Dares Wins’ rival show, Matt is now furious at SAS Who Dares Loses bosses.
