Wednesday saw the departure of Ivana Donald Trump by family and friends in New York.
After many conflicting reports, Melania Trump, the former President of the United States, attended the event with her husband. She clearly forgot about Ivana and was happy to say goodbye.
Shortly after Ivana’s casket arrived, the Trumps were seen entering Church of St. Vincent Ferrer in Manhattan’s Upper East Side via a side entry.
Ivana’s children Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric and their families gathered on the sidewalk as her casket was carefully lifted out of the hearse and carried into the church by a dozen pallbearers wearing white gloves.
Lexington Avenue security was tight. The sidewalk was closed to pedestrians. NYPD officers and Secret Service agents manned the historic church. Guests were screened for weapons upon entering.
The funeral service was only accessible by invitation.
Ivana Trump’s family gathered first at a funeral home near her Manhattan townhouse, where the 73 year old died after falling down the stairs.
As he said farewell to his first wife, the former president stood tall flanked his daughter Melania and Ivanka.
According to reports, Ivana will be buried in New Jersey at the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster.
Trump was granted permission in 2017 to build a small cemetery for his family — just 10 plots — overlooking the first hole of the golf course.
Trump called Ivana prior to heading to the funeral. “amazing woman who led a great and inspirational life.”
