Is Prey shot in these locations? Locations where Predator movie was filmed

Ever since 1987, some have been waiting for a perfect sequel to John McTiernan’s Predator. It’s a sci-fi classic but the general consensus is that the follow-ups haven’t come close to living up to the original.

Hopes were incredibly high for Shane Black’s The Predator in 2018, as he’s a popular filmmaker and even starred in the film that started the franchise. But it was more difficult than expected. Dan Trachtenberg rose to the occasion.

Instead of taking the series forward, he’s taken it back.

Prey is a prequel that takes place in 1719. It focuses on Naru, a young Comanche warrior (played here by Amber Midthunder). She wants to be a hunter and spends much of her time training but isn’t taken seriously by her village because she’s a woman.

On the other side, a mysterious alien hunter appears on Earth and begins to take out both humans and animals. Is she the one who can kill it?

Since its release, the film has received a lot of praise. The film’s look has been a highlight. The look of Prey is a highlight.

‘Let this beauty speak for itself’

Speak with SlashFilmJeff Cutter, a cinematographer, spoke out about how he captures the Prey landscapes as naturally as possible.

“The approach that we talked about was to be as ultra-naturalistic as we could be. Not to sound too weird, but to respect nature and to respect the landscapes that we were afforded to shoot in. As opposed to trying to overly stylize things or overly complicate things, let this beauty speak for itself.”

He continued: “The less that we could affect it, the less artificial light, I think is just a general approach of not putting anything between the audience and the film. If you start becoming too self-aware of lighting or things that don’t feel realistic, then I think you get sucked out of the movie…”
