Nope was shot in California. The majority of the sequences were captured in Los Angeles County.

The CinemaholicAccording to reports, the entire shoot took place between June and July 2021 in California.

Nope’s cast and crew got to work in the northwestern Los Angeles County city of Santa Clarita and shot a number of scenes in the middle of the city. The crew then moved on to the ranch scenes at Firestone Ranch, a real-life location.

The creative team made many changes to the ranch in order to make it suitable for Nope.

‘I knew the world would want to be outside’

Jordan Peele was inspired by the idea of filming when he was writing his script.

“I wrote [the film] trapped inside and so I knew I wanted to make something that was about the sky,”During an interview, he explained all of this to me. GQ.

“I knew the world would want to be outside and at the same time, I knew we had this newfound fear from this trauma, from this time of what it meant to go outside. Can we go outside? So I slipped some of that stuff in.”

Keke Palmer, the Em-playing actor, was also present. “Filming gave me an escape. We did have a couple run-ins that kind of jolted us back into [reality].”
