INSTAGRAM went down for thousands of users across the UK in a surprise outage earlier today.
The app stopped working at 9.45 a.m. UK time.

Online outage tracker Down Detector logged thousands of complaints about the app.
The cause of the outage is currently unknown.
The majority of users on Down Detector were reporting issues with the app, and “server connection”.
Many users reported that the feed didn’t load.
Central Recorder confirmed that some users’ main photo feeds didn’t load or update.
Users took to Twitter to complain about this outage.
One wrote: “Screams why is Instagram down again”.
Another said: “Instagram’s having a good few weeks – down again!”
And one moaned: “Is Instagram down or is my internet s***?”
We’ve asked Instagram for comment and will update this story with any response.
