Inside Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith’s brightly coloured new home and kitchen

The Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith CBE has let fans have a sneak peek into her brightly coloured home including a bright yellow kitchen.

The 81 year old star of Great British Bake Off returned to television on Tuesday, with the latest series of Channel 4’s baking program. She was joined by Noel Fielding (Paul Hollywood), Matt Lucas (Mat Lucas) and Matt Lucas (Noel Fielding).

John Playfair, Prue’s husband, has been busy decorating their new home.

Prue is known for her love of brightly coloured clothing. Her home shows that, with walls painted in bright colours, it reflects her passion.

The brightly-coloured home is a result of her husband’s love for brightness.

“Luckily my husband loves colour as much as me which is why the whole house is FULL of colour,” Prue wrote to her Instagram fans in February.

For the kitchen that Prue calls the “most important room in the house”, she has chosen a shade of sunshine yellow that decorates the walls, cupboard and even curtains.

The open kitchen features a large island that is surrounded by yellow cupboards and drawers. These are matched by the yellow flowery blinds.

On top of the island is a huge utensils holder, to carry all of Prue’s spices, kitchen tools and baking implements.

All the baking ingredients that the Bake Off contestants might need are neatly stored on yellow shelves.

The stylish, cheerful room features a huge dining table with green chairs and alternating yellow-green chairs.

Prue said of her bright kitchen earlier this year: “It’s important our kitchens reflect our personality – for me that means injecting a bit of colour.”

The rest of the house is similarly decorated, with a red painted wall in the living room for a pop of colour and pale pink velvet sofas.

The room features a huge bookshelf that is loaded with books. Art hangs from the walls, and is displayed on coffee tables all throughout.

Prue showed Prue a room with dark teal walls that were covered in beautiful artwork and photographs.

“Creating this dream home has been so exciting. From a blank page to this,” Prue said.
