In a terrifying world of 15,000mph’space junk’ that can cause damage to ISS and even TRAP us onto Earth

A space debris disc is seen hovering just above the Earth’s surface, hurtling through space at high speeds to cause more damage than shake the International Space Station.

It is possible that space travel could be limited in the future because of Earth’s dense orbit, both man-made as well as natural.

Objects orbiting Earth travel at approximately 15,000 miles an hour. This is fast enough to cause serious damage if they collide with satellites or space ships.

CNETAccording to reports, the International Space Station (ISS), must engage in approximately one evasive maneuver annually to avoid collisions of space junk.

Scientists are now examining the danger that space trash presents to Earth’s life and our hopes of travelling to space.

The Kessler Syndrome is a theory that Earth’s orbit will become so crowded that debris will just keep colliding, creating a field of space trash thick enough that we’re forced to ground space travel.

Elon Musk, one the loudest space travel advocates, has added more that 2,500 Starlink Satellites to the disc of space debris collecting around Earth.

SpaceX will add 42,000 satellites to lower Earth orbit. This is much to the dismay of astronomers.

China has tested a satellite for military purposes, which is to remove space junk. Space.comIt was reported that details of the mission were kept secret because they were military in nature.

Stargazers with keen eyes discovered that the Shijan-21Satellite ferried another satellite safely to Earth from a distance of 3,000 km in space junkGraveyard“.

Many of the plans for space travel and operations in the 21st century will be carried out by private companies, rather than public agencies.

Future space litter may be a matter of private companies being held accountable. Currently, there is no regulation.
