These are:

  1. Missed periods
  2. Nausea
  3. Fatigue
  4. Sore or swollen breasts
  5. Frequent peeing
  6. Mood swings
  7. Backache
  8. Food cravings
  9. Light spotting
  10. Cramping,
  11. Strange tastes.

The NHS says that these strange tastes could present in a number of ways.

It could be that you can have a metallic taste in your mouth or that you lose interest in certain foods you once enjoyed.

Posting on TikTok, he said that even though missed periods are a sign, being a few days late shouldn’t cause alarm as there are many different factors that can impact your period.

He added that you can still get pregnant if you use the contraceptive pill every day.

“But the chances are super low. No contraception method is 100 per cent”, he said.

Earlier this week we reported the story of a 23-year-old woman who didn’t realise she was pregnant until she saw her baby’s tiny arm in the toilet bowl.

Student Lalene Malik visited her GP a number of times after experiencing symptoms including weight gain and a shortness of breath.

Lalene had blood tests but the results were lost and medics told her to come back to the surgery three to six months later.

She said if she knew she was pregnant she would have had more time to prepare – which is why it’s key to know the early warning signs.

The NHS says that a positive pregnancy test is almost always correct as long as you have followed the results.

Guidance states: “A negative result is less reliable. If you get a negative result and still think you may be pregnant, wait a week and try again.”
