Ikea’s Game-Changing Membership Update: Find Out How You Can Maximize Your Benefits!

IKEA’s Game-Changing Membership Update: Earn Points and Unlock Exclusive Rewards!

IKEA is set to transform its immensely popular membership scheme, which already boasts over 10 million loyal members across the UK!

The renowned flat-pack furniture giant is introducing a new feature that allows shoppers to earn points not only when shopping in-store but also online.

These points can be redeemed for various rewards including discounts on furniture, delivery fees, and even more exciting offers.

Launched in the UK back in 2006, the IKEA Family loyalty program has soared to include 10 million members nationwide. With the upcoming launch of this point-based benefit on **August 27**, members will earn **one point for every £5 spent**.

An IKEA spokesperson expressed their excitement, stating: “We’re thrilled to enhance our IKEA Family programme with the introduction of rewards, offering our loyal customers exciting new perks and benefits.” They emphasized that the program aims to make shopping more rewarding and enjoyable.

This exciting development follows IKEA’s parent company’s announcement of plans to implement the points collection system for all IKEA Family members worldwide by 2025, with members in Australia, Italy, and Portugal already enjoying similar benefits.

Linda Ha, global customer engagement and loyalty manager at Ingka Group, revealed, “In true IKEA style, we are giving customers an updated loyalty programme with more and better benefits.” She pointed out that this new rewards program is a step in fulfilling IKEA’s promise to enhance home life for everyone.

How Will the New Point-Based System Work?

Starting on **August 27**, IKEA Family members will be able to earn points that can be converted into offers or rewards. From that date on, every purchase made—whether products or eligible services (excluding third-party services)—at IKEA will earn members rewards points.

To ensure your points are credited, be sure to present either your physical or digital IKEA Family card at the checkout. Members will earn points based on the total amount spent, collecting one point for every £5. And the fun doesn’t stop there! Members can also earn points through engagement activities such as:

  • Logging into your IKEA Family Account online
  • Creating and saving a wishlist
  • Participating in registered IKEA Family events
  • Booking and attending various planning appointments (kitchen planning excluded)

It’s important to note that points cannot be earned on purchases of IKEA gift cards. Once you accumulate enough points (which can take up to 48 hours), you’ll be presented with a selection of redeemable rewards. If you see something you like, just redeem it! The required points will be deducted from your balance, and you’ll receive a voucher code via email confirming your reward.

Some examples of rewards might include:

  • Reduced delivery fees
  • A discount on complete meals or treats
  • Discounts on select products

Once you redeem a voucher code, make sure to use it within 30 days, or it will expire. IKEA plans to reveal more insight into reward availability as the launch date nears.

What Are the Other Benefits of IKEA Family Membership?

IKEA Family membership is loaded with exclusive benefits! Currently, members can access discounts on selected items. For example, right now, IKEA Family members can grab a whopping **25% off** all Ånneland and Vatnestrom mattresses—a stunning deal that slashes the price of a standard double Ånneland foam mattress from £549 to just £399!

Additionally, members enjoy **15% off** the installation costs for new kitchens and can take advantage of free coffee and tea during store visits on weekdays. There’s also the unique “Just-in-case” protection, providing a 90-day insurance policy for accidental damage during transportation and assembly. A Brief Look at IKEA’s Journey in the UK

HISTORY OF IKEA IN THE UK

Founded in **Älmhult, Sweden** in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA has grown from a humble mail-order business to a household name in home furnishings worldwide. The challenge of shipping high-priced furniture made Kamprad switch to the flat-pack assembly method in 1953, revolutionizing the industry.

The first UK store opened in Warrington, Cheshire, in **1987**, marking the beginning of IKEA’s expansion across Britain, quickly followed by stores in major cities like Birmingham, Leeds, and Glasgow. Recently, IKEA is focusing on rolling out compact “XS Stores” closer to city centers, with one already opened in Hammersmith and another planned for Oxford Circus by **Autumn 2024**.

Today, IKEA operates 21 stores across the UK and employs nearly 12,000 staff members, remaining dedicated to delivering exceptional value and experiences for its customers.
