Idris is 50 and became a household star as DCI John Luther on the BBC series. Now, Idris wants to trade perfumes after selling shave balms.

A source said: “Idris is a clever businessman as well as a top actor.

“A new trademark has been created by him with lots of exciting additions, including cosmetics and more skin care products – as well as perfumes and aftershave balms.

“There is also a possibility of a podcast and other ideas focused around wellbeing – nothing is off the table.”

Idris and his wife Sabrina launched their first ever skincare brand, S’Able Labs, earlier this summer with a capsule collection of three items – a cleanser, a toner and a moisturiser.

Prices range from £28 to £50.

Idris previously said he got into skincare because of his acting work – which includes playing Nelson Mandela in The Long Walk To Freedom and as Heimdall in the Thor franchise.

He said: “As an actor, my skin is always a conversation when I sit in the make-up chair.

“I didn’t really have a dialogue around skincare, but I picked up one.”

Idris’ next big screen outing will see him reprising his role as Luther for a film adaptation of the BBC show.

He said last month: “We have finished it.

“We have some work to do on the movie but it’s nearly there.

“We’re really proud of it.”

He added: “The world of Luther as a television show and film is similar, but the film has scale,

“We’re opening the doors and widening it, so anything’s possible when you can do that.”
