How can I enable voice directions in Google Maps?

Voice directions are an excellent navigation feature.

They can also increase safety by stopping you from checking your smartphone’s directions while driving.

Start by opening the Google Maps mobile App on your phone to turn on voice direction.

Next, click on “Circle in the Top Right Corner” that contains the first letter.

Go to Settings.

Click on ‘GETTING OUT’ and select ‘Navigation.

Below ‘Sound & voice,’ you will see ‘Mute state.’

You can choose to have ‘Alerts only’ or mute your voice directions with ‘Mute state.

To turn on voice directions, select ‘Unmuted.’ Once selected, the tab will turn blue.

What are the other options for voice directions in Google Maps?

There is also a Guidance volume’ option. This option allows you to change the volume of your voice directions.

Choose the volume option that you prefer.

Next, select the option to “Play voice over Bluetooth.” Tap the circle in the right to activate this feature. Make sure the surrounding area is blue.

You can also choose to Play as Bluetooth phone calls’ or Access your Assistant’ using ‘Ok Google” instead of?Hey Siri.

You will find a detailed voice guidance option under “Walking options”.

When this is turned on, it allows you to ‘Hear more frequent audio announcements during walking navigation.

How can I select a language to use for voice directions on Google Maps

After clicking the icon with your first letter in the upper left corner of the screen, you can go back to ‘Settings.’

Scroll down to “USING MAPS” and click on “Voice Search.”

This page will give you a choice of several languages.
