Princess EugeniaJust experienced the complete circle of life. Our hearts go out for her. It seemed that she was surrounded with life and hope after being blessed with a healthy grandson, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. It’s a chance to open the doors to a new generation.
Sadly, at the same time that was happening, her father-in-law, George Brooksbank was fighting an illness (after having narrowly beaten Covid last year), and sadly, that sickness came to head in the worst way possible right before baby August’s christening.
Circle of Life
George Brooksbank had been very ill for some time. He lost his battle just days before the birth of August. It’s hard to imagine a miracle being followed quickly by tragedy. It’s almost as if they opened one of the doors to let the baby inside, but then shut another. It could be said that both the blessings and the losses balance each other. Sometimes, fate can be quite strange.
Brooksbank, who was only 61 years old, is sadly still too young to die from any health-related issues. As mentioned previouslyHe never fully recovered from his fight with Covis. But no one could’ve predicted how close these two incidents would be to one another. But Brooksbank had been on a ventilator for the last five weeks, so the loss wasn’t completely unfounded. Regardless, it was still very difficult for them all.
Grief and Gratitude
The one thing that stands out in this otherwise tragic story is that the elder got to meet his grandson before he passed away. It’s a great thing that they were able to meet. As if one generation passed the torch to another, informaly. Brooksbank almost seemed to be holding on to that very reason. Once he realized how much August would be fine, he left this mortal coil happy.
Although you would never wish it on anyone, sometimes life opens one door and closes the other. Brooksbank seems to have died peacefully. Knowing that he was able to see his grandchild makes it both sadder and more joyful. One thing is certain, Princess Eugenia had an unforgettable year. This was true for both the positive and the negative.
