Gwen Stefani of The Voice Took Justin Aaron From One Chair to Season 22 Frontrunner

Talent is everywhere The Voice’s 22nd season is turning out to be pretty incredible. Multiple performers received standing ovations in the second week of live performances All of The VoiceCoaches. Some artists are like Blake Shelton’s BodieAnd John Legend’s Parijita BastolaThey have been a star from the beginning and earned four-chair turns on their way to a likely long run in this competition. Others, however are learning as the go. Justin AaronFor the second week straight, he gave what could have been the most significant speech of the week. The best performance of nightAs Gwen StefaniShowed her coaching talent with the One Chair Turn, who could take it all.

Justin Aaron, one of the 13 Top 13 contestants, was chosen to close the show. It was already a night filled with emotions, as artists were asked for songs that had changed their lives. Aaron decided to sing Tasha Cobbs’ “Break Every Chain,”This helped him to get out of depression. During rehearsals, Gwen Stefani, his coach, insisted that he do a better performance. She added:

I think you need to be very clear with the intention of what you’re saying. If you’re feeling really emotional, I believe you can do it. You need to let your hair down! I want you to look up I want to hear you sing to God! … I think you can go further. You can look up punk bands or other music.

She stated that it was his moment and he seemed to take advantage of it. The passionate performance was over and all four coaches were up on their feet. Gwen Stefani was overcome with emotion as she shared her feelings about Justin Aaron’s ability to take it to the next level. Aaron stunned all the coaches Live Playoffs a week ago as well, when he took on Luther Vandross’ “Here and Now.”

John Legend noted that he was gaining confidence each week, and Gwen Stefani’s influence on his performances could actually be seen even earlier in the competition. During the Knockouts, the 34-year-old from Junction City, Kansas chose to sing Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk,” and Stefani expressed concern about gospel singer Justin Aaron taking on a song that didn’t belong in church. He was told then by her:

You don’t have to be the person you think you should be. Instead, let go of who you think you are. You can take the mic off the stage. You’re gonna own the stage, and you’re gonna be a little more swaggy with it. It’s important to bring out your alter ego.

Justin Aaron certainly seems to be following Gwen Stefani’s lead. He is one of three One-Chair Turns remaining on Season 22, and they’re up against five artists who Earned Four-Chair Turns. It would be an understatement to say that the competition is fierce. That makes it even more remarkable that he continues to be a top-singing singer. I’ve got a feeling that Justin Aaron might have converted a few non-believers with that performance. However, it’s all up to America’s vote, and three singers will be eliminated when The VoiceReturns at 8:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday November 22nd on NBC.
