Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada started honouring June 1 as Fei Fei day in 2008. Joyce Cheng, the daughter of the late Lydia Shum, was present at the event with Mayor Sam Sullivan.

Mayor Sullivandeclared the day in Vancouver on 26 February 2008, which was a week after Lydia’s death.
