The actress, who plays sex therapist, Dr. Jean Milburn on the show, hopes her three children haven’t seen her racy scenes.

Gillian Anderson has revealed she’s banned her kids from watching her hit Netflix show Sex Education.

The 53-year-old actress plays Dr. Jean Milburn as a sex therapist in the comedy-drama series. She had regular one-night stands during the first season.

However, she’s hoping her children – daughter Piper, 26, and sons Oscar, 14, and Felix, 12 – haven’t watched any episodes because she’s forbidden them from seeing it.

When the show first hit TV screens in January 2019, Gillian confessed she told her children they “weren’t allowed” to watch Sex Education to save her blushes.

“I don’t have any control over their behavior at their houses. I don’t have any control over their friends’ actions.” she laughed.

She praised the show for dealing with serious issues such as consent and abortion and said certain aspects of Sex Education are “vital for young people to hear.”

The show boasts an impressive young cast, including Asa Butterfield who plays Gillian’s on-screen son Otis, as well as Aimee Lou Wood, who portrays high school student Aimee.

Recently, the 26-year old spoke out about her experience working with Gillian on the critically acclaimed series. She recalled how she cried after filming scenes with the award-winning actress.

“It was so embarrassing. The other week I had an interview, and it was about therapy; they said, ‘What was it like doing the scenes with Gillian?’ And I started talking about it and then all of a sudden I was in tears,” E! interviewed Aimee. News.

Her character turns to Jean after she’s sexually assaulted on a bus, and Gillian credited the show’s writers for focusing on the incident and giving victims a voice.

Gillian recently won an Emmy for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher.

The actress was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series to portray the former British Prime Minister in the fourth season of the Netflix drama. An American reporter asked Gillianer whether she had spoken with Thatcher about her role at the ceremony.

“Um, I have not spoken to Margaret,” Gillian quickly responded, before moving on to another question.
