Four University of Idaho Students are Found Dead in a Homicide

According to reports, four University of Idaho students were found dead at an off-campus house. Police are calling it a homicide.

According to police, the statement was made to the mediaThey received a call on Sunday about an unconscious individual. On arrival they discovered four people dead.

Because authorities suspected that the scene might be homicides CBS NewsAccording to reports, it “generally means the killing of one person by another, though the term doesn’t necessarily suggest death was intended or committed in a criminal manner.”

Authorities have not released additional information, including the cause of death.

On Monday afternoon, the Moscow Police Department released the names of the victims as Ethan Chapin, 20, Conway, WA; Madison Mogen, 21, Coeur d’Alene, ID; Xana Kernodle, 20, Avondale, AZ ; and Kaylee GonCalves, 21, Rathdrum, ID and confirmed that all four were students at the University of Idaho.

The police demanded to “Please respect the privacy of the victims’ family, friends, and loved ones as the Moscow Police Department investigates this tragic event.
The Moscow Police Department and the City of Moscow is deeply saddened for the families of these individuals, fellow students and friends, and our community during this time. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to each and every person affected by this incident.”

Police stated that this was an ongoing investigation.

After the police had announced their discovery, the University of Idaho issued an announcement Sunday.

“It is with deep sadness that I share with you that the university was notified today of the death of four University of Idaho students living off-campus believed to be victims of homicide,”Scott Green, University of Idaho President, said it in a Facebook statement. “Out of respect for these fellow Vandals, classes statewide and online are canceled Monday, Nov. 14.”

Twitter also stated that the university is “no ongoing threat”Refer to other students.

Moscow Police Department would like to hear from anyone who has any information.

“The Moscow Police Department gives our heartfelt condolences to family members, friends and the Moscow community,”In a press release, authorities stated.
