Since its formation on the UK’s scene, Little Mix has been a very popular British girl band. “The X Factor”Nelson resigned in 2011 but she announced her resignation in December 2020.

The singer expressed concerns about her mental health as well as an interest in pursuing a solo career.

“I constantly compared myself to the others,”Nelson said Cosmopolitan UK 2021. “Of course, a lot of that was in my head, but a lot of it was past trauma … Now I feel like me. When I look back [at my time] in the band, I genuinely wasn’t me. I can’t believe how miserable I was.”

After releasing her music video for her debut solo album, “Boyz,”Nelson was later accused of cultural appropriation, Blackfishing and Blackfishing – when a non Black person changes their appearance to make them appear Black or racially uncertain.

Lauren Edmonds of Insider reported that Nelson’s publicist made a statement to Vulture on her behalf. “I take all those comments made seriously. I would never intentionally do anything to make myself look racially ambiguous, so that’s why I was initially shocked that the term was directed at me.”

Perry Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh Anne Pinnock, remain members of Little Mix. They continue to release new music.
