Famous French celebrity twins Grichka & Igor Bogdanoff died of COVID-19 in Paris within days of eachother. They were 72.

Igor died Monday, just six days after Grichka died Dec. 28, friends said.

Friends said that the brothers believed that healthy lifestyles would protect them from contracting coronavirus. According to their lawyer, they were both admitted at the hospital in December.

Family friend Pierre-Jean Chalençon said they waited too long to seek hospital treatment, deciding it was similar to flu. “People have said they were anti-vaxxers but they absolutely weren’t,”He told BFMTV. “Several friends told them to get themselves vaccinated but they felt because of their lifestyle and their [lack of] comorbidity, they weren’t at risk of Covid.”

The Bogdanoff brothers, who are known for their eccentricity, were descendants of Austrian nobles. According to the BBC

As their facial features changed over the years, speculation arose that the twins had undergone extensive plastic surgery.

These claims were denied by the brothers, who claimed they had tried. “technologies”to improve their features.

Although academics thought the brothers over simplified science, viewers loved their programs. Both brothers had earned doctorates in physics, but controversy surrounded their theses on the Big Bang theory and space-time links,CBS reported. They were also accused of plagiarism.

Later, an internal university investigation determined that their work was not scientifically valid. However, they were awarded doctorate degrees.
