Family Guy fans think the Meg Jokes went too far in this episode

Season 10, Episode 2, (“Seashore Seashell Party”Meg Griffin gets fed up with her family’s treatment of her. She decides to make her own decisions and give them some of her medicine. She confronts her family’s flaws, vices and imperfections and comes to the strange conclusion that their inability to absorb abuse and dysfunction like a lightning rod is what keeps them from completely falling off the wagon. They forget everything and treat her poorly again.

u/SarcasticVoyage posted his issue with the joke in the r/raisedbynarcissists community on Reddit, stating, “I mean, I get that there’s no entertainment value in suddenly treating a scapegoat character like a normal person, but dammit if that whole thing didn’t make me cringe.”Many comments agreed with his assessment, displaying their disgust for the uninspiring bit.

It was also criticised by some, with Kevin McFarland. The AV ClubHe vented his frustrations in his review by saying: “Nobody cares about any member of the Griffin family the way we care about every last Simpson. I feel bad about Meg becoming the scapegoat.”Kate Moon TV fanaticMeg wrote that her family was hurt by the fact that she had confronted her. “contrived and uninteresting.”

Meg has suffered a lot in her life over the years. Her less than stellar treatment is still a running gag on the animated series. However, Meg’s abuse is not something that fans can take. Some viewers found this joke too harsh.
