Ellen DeGeneres’ HBO Max Shows Removed

Ellen DeGeneres' HBO Max Shows Removed

Two Ellen DeGeneres’ programs were removed from HBO Max this Week Little Ellen Ellen’s Next Great Designer. These shows were original HBO Max programs that were removed during the streaming streamer’s merger to Discovery Inc. DeGeneres’ fans may see ulterior motives.

DeGeneres started working with HBO Max Ellen’s Next Great DesignerA reality TV series for furniture designers called. It aired April 2021 and May 2021. After that, it was cancelled without any news of a new season. Meanwhile, Little EllenDeGeneres was joined by HBO Max for the second venture. It was an animated series for preschoolers, featuring a fictionalized Ellen, a 7-year-old girl who led the charge in short stories and morality tales. Before the abrupt cancellation, there were two seasons that had 10 episodes each.

HBO Max released a press release about this and other catalog removals this week, but it is not clear what the reasoning was. It said: “As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and discovery+. That will include the removal of some content from both platforms. At the same time, we’re already starting to bring our content catalogs together like the launch of the new CNN Originals Hub on discovery+ and a curated collection of Magnolia Network content coming soon to HBO Max.”

Many fans were extremely upset by recent content removals, including HBO Max original series that weren’t available elsewhere or in another format. The case of Little EllenJennifer Skelly, her co-creator, retweeted news articles regarding the removal and had a discussion with other creators. She also changed her Twitter bio so that it said “Created a little show called Little Ellen – don’t blink oops you missed it.”

The response to these streaming removals was complicated due to their association with DeGeneres whose personal legacy and reputation is still difficult to understand. DeGeneres was first in the news when she was photographed having a casual afternoon with George W. Bush. BuzzFeed News published a report in 2019 about workplace harassment at DeGeneres’ talk show, which included the host.

DeGeneres’ talk program is over and she has officially retired. DeGeneres’ HBO Max shows may not be available for fans to watch again.
