Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos founder, found guilty on 4 counts of Wire Fraud and Conspiracy

Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced founder of Theranos, was found guilty on Monday of four federal charges — three counts of wire fraud and one of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

After 45 hours of deliberations the jury was unable to reach a verdict on three additional wire-fraud counts. Holmes was found not guilty of these additional charges. The jury consisted of eight men, four women and three other people.

She could now face up to 20 year imprisonment

Documentaries include a profile of the ex-CEO of Silicon Valley’s startup for blood-testing. “The Dropout” “The Inventor.”Hulu gave an exclusive look at the limited series recently “The Dropout,”The show, which stars Amanda Seyfried as Holmes and will debut in March, will star Amanda Seyfried. The ABC podcast of the same title is the inspiration for the show.

A podcast has been created that chronicles the rise and fall Holmes and her company. “Bad Blood.” On the big screen, Jennifer Lawrence was tapped to play Holmes in another movie project.

Holmes, 37, was accused three years ago of multiple federal fraud and conspiracy charges after prosecutors claimed she misrepresented her company’s blood-testing technology. The trial of Holmes follows extensive coverage about how she managed a company once valued at $9Billion and made her the darling Silicon Valley biotech and Silicon Valley.

Theranos, which was founded in 2013, was once valued as high as $9 billion. Holmes was the face and spokesperson of a fast-growing startup promising its proprietary tech that could run full clinical tests with just a few drops. Investigations into its devices and test results would later prove otherwise, yet the company managed to lure investors and board members from beyond the tech sector — from media mogul Rupert Murdoch to former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
