Duncan Bannatyne, Dragons’ Den star, flees Portugal with his wife after wildfire decimates Algarve

DRAGONS’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne had to flee Portugal after wildfires swept through the country.

The Scots entrepreneur Nigora, 42 and 73 respectively, lives full-time in their villa in Vale do Lobo (Algarve).

The couple was however “evicted”They were forced to flee the country as flames rose across the country.

Clydebank-born Star posted videos on Twitter showing large flames that had engulfed the region while several fire engines dealt with the fire.

He stated: “Terrible day in the Algarve today.”

He added the following in a post later: “We were evicted from our homes here today but luckily most fires were contained by early evening.”

The video shows him saying to his wife, “We can’t get home, because they block the road to our house.”

“Maybe the fire started again.”

He also told his wife that there was nothing they could do right now.

Shortly after, he posted another video showing thick black smoke rising from a garden filled with large flames.

According to the gym franchise owner, the scene was described as “amazing.” “terrible day in the Algarve”.

Bannatyne had earlier in the day retweeted an image of multiple helicopters collecting water from the ocean to fight fires at a local beach.

He complimented authorities for their words: “They are doing a fantastic job.”

The Scot bought a new property in the area earlier this year after selling his £5million where he spent much of the Coronavirus lockdown.

Duncan and Nigora got married in 2017; he also told his fans during the pandemic that he had. “repatriated”After the UK lockdown, he returned to Portugal with his wife.

“I have repatriated myself & my family back to my home in Portugal after being locked down in London due to bad timing,”Twitter was his platform.
