Duggar critics slam Jinger & Jeremy for ignoring tone-deaf accusations as they continue to promote new children’s book

DUGGAR critics criticized Jinger and Jermey’s inability to address accusations of tone-deafness in their children’s book.

Jinger, 28, shared a part of their conversation on the Christian podcast in an Instagram posting on Friday.

Captioned, “We loved talking to @candidpod about our new children’s book “You Can Shine So Bright!”Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo discuss the reasons for writing the book in the video.

An 19 Kids and Counting alum said that she thought while working on other projects with her husband, “How fun would it be to have something for our girls to read.”

They share Felicity, a four-year-old, and Evangeline a one year old daughter.

The mother-of-2 mentioned that they wanted something to be written. “point them to Christ.”

Jeremy stated: “our girls are obsessed with books,”Jinger is the one who adds “we did all of this with our girls in mind.”

Fan comments were generally positive with only one person posting. “Picking this gem up on Amazon! I hope my kiddos like it,”Some comments were negative with some fans questioning the backlash caused by the book’s publication.

The majority of people read Entertainment.

One example of such a comment was: “How are you guys responding to the critics saying this book is tone deaf? POC and differently-abled children being misrepresented.”

Another critic was asked: “Y’all are still promoting this book with a black kid being portrayed as a thief and a disabled kid treated as an afterthought?”

While another commenter said: “Unfortunately you fell short with this book.”

‘TONE-DEAF’

Jinger was accused last month of writing a document. “racist”Children’s book after criticisms noted “tone-deaf”The storyline contains details.

Announcing its launch, Jinger wrote on Instagram: “We wrote ‘You Can Shine So Bright!’ Because we want young children like Felicity and Evy Jo to understand that God has a special purpose for them!

“He wants them to know his love and to share it with the world. We hope this little book engages your kids with the stories and illustrations and encourages them to want to know Jesus and the love he gives!!!”

A 32-page picture book that follows a group children is featured in this 32-page picture book. “as they model love, joy, patience, peace, and more in everyday, relatable scenarios”. 

Critics were not happy with the way that a character from the book, a person who is of color, was depicted as a thief.

They also slammed on the “tone-deaf”The treatment of a person in a wheelchair.

FAN RESPONSE

One wrote this comment in Jinger’s comments: “Why did the little black girl have all the negative emotions attached to her ?? Not a good look.”

Another comment: “Deeply disappointed” that you chose to use the one person in color as the thief, not the perfect white girl.

“Given the social dynamics at play in 2022. I felt this was so tone-deaf to the real issues POC deal with on a regular basis.”

A third was posted: “‘Try to obey’ and the black little girl stealing a balloon??”

“It’s extremely tone deaf to the culture in which POC are portrayed, needing the white kid to save the POC,”Another user commented.

Yet another critic raged: “In addition to the racial undertones, the ‘God loves you, too’ to the little boy in the wheelchair….seriously?

“Y’all need to re-think this book…it is tone-deaf at the least! Sorry, thumbs down on this one.”

Jinger and Jeremy have been contacted by U.S. Sun to request comment, but they have not heard back.

RACISM ACCUSATIONS

Jinger was not the first to be accused of racism.

TLC alum, back in 2018, clad her baby girl of two months in a head wrap some critics called racist.

“This is racism,”One user claimed the accessory was an accessory, while another wrote it. “microaggression.”
