Disney+ Must Fix The Plot Holes In Ahsoka's Return To The Jedi

Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka may seem too much of a departure to Ahsoka fans. Dave Filoni, and his team have the opportunity to merge the two versions of the character into one.

Ahsoka seems to have a lot of things in store for the Jedi’s legacy. Ezra (Eman Esfandi) is back — a Jedi who was only trained informally and never encounters Luke Skywalker, as far as we know. Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo in the trailers was also seen training with Ahsoka to learn Jedi arts. Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, has two Dark Jedis in his army. Baylan Skoll is Ray Stevenson’s former Anakin Skywalker and Shin Hati, Ivanna Sakhno, his student. The orange lightsabers of both of these characters set them apart as Sith, and bring them closer to the Gray Jedi from the Expanded Universe.

These are all messy areas — parts of the “Star Wars” mythos that are adjacent to the Jedi, but different. Ahsoka’s in-between space has been her home since the Clone Wars. The importance of this zone in the new show suggests that it is a better look at what a Jedi really means. Ahsoka might have to go inwards and figure out who she really is. She wants to become a Jedi once more. Is she seeking comfort in an old-fashioned place of security, after being so alone?
