Covid Pandemic has brought back empty shelves in grocery stores across the country.

Groceries across the country are filled with empty shelves.

John Catsimatidis, the CEO and owner of the Gristedes grocery chain in New York City, is John Catsimatidis. He claims that his shelves are empty due to sick people calling him.

“Truckers are calling in sick, people running warehouses calling in sick. It’s the Omicron scenario,”Inside Edition was told by him.

Grocery shops are short of eggs, chicken and beef. The shortages have caused large price hikes, with many items going up 20% in the past twelve months.

The shelves will be empty for at minimum another month, before the Omicron surge diminishes.

“Stock up,” Catsimatidis said. “Fill up the freezer, the fridge, if you have a favorite food buy it when you see it and don’t wait, it might not be there tomorrow.”

Flowflex antigen tests can still be performed at home, although many pharmacies are out of stock. ShopHQ, however, seems to have plenty of Flowflex tests.
