Cops attempt to identify the body of a young woman discovered on the roadside, after she was shot and killed.

A haunting mystery hangs over the body a young lady who was discovered dead by a roadside in recent times.

Cops are putting together the details of her death and using chilling clues to help them identify the woman. They believe she was probably killed hours before her body was found on the side of the road.

The victim’s body was found on the shoulder of a road in Virginia’s Hanover County on the morning of July 21.

While authorities have yet to identify the woman, the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has provided some physical details about who she was. 

According to reports, the woman was aged between 18-20 years. Local news station WTVR.

Authorities said she was a black woman and small in stature, coming in at just 4’11 and 102 pounds.

She has several tattoos that have been revealed, which may help in figuring her identity.

The woman’s left wrist was tattooed with the word SerendipityAnd there she also had a tattoo on her left hip that read “it is what it is” tattoo.

Other parts of her body contained tattoos with the words BAD HABITS”, “PACIFY HER” and “LOVE ME.”

Based on the findings of the local medical examiner, her death is being investigated as murder.

WTVR’s reporter said that there were “obvious signs of trauma” on the woman’s body when it was discovered.

Police suspect that she was murdered in another location and that her body later was dumped on the road. 

WTVR reported that authorities are speculating that she may have been killed just hours before she was found.
