‘Confess Fletch’ Gets Same-Day Theatrical Release and VOD Releasing

Miramax has been granted worldwide distribution rights “Confess, Fletch”Paramount Global Content has signed Jon Hamm as the star. The film will have a limited release in theaters as well as debut on PVOD Sept. 16, before debuting on Showtime Oct. 28,

Greg Mottola directs (“Superbad,” “Adventureland”) from a script by Zev Borow (“Lethal Weapon”Comedy-noir () is an updated version of the “Fletch” character based on Gregory Mcdonald’s 1970 mystery novels. Hamm produced and stars in the title character, Irwin M. Fletcher. He is an investigative journalist and former Marine.

Chevy Chase first introduced him to life in 1985’s screwball comedy. It was also the basis for its sequel, 1989. “Fletch Lives,”The reboot was inspired by the second book in the series and promises to be darker. Fletch is the main suspect in one of several murders. He’s also saddled with recovering his fiancée’s stolen art collection, inherited from her long-lost father.

Hamm is pictured with fellow “Mad Men” alum John Slattery, as well as Marcia Gay Harden, Kyle MacLachlan, Annie Mumolo, Lorenza Izzo, Ayden Mayeri, and Producers included Roy Wood Jr. Bill Block, Connie Tavel and Connie Tavel. Mark Kamine, David List, Mottola and David Mottola were the executive producers.
