China yesterday pledged to continue its live missile firings as well as drills involving warships or fighter jets.

This alarming move effectively blocks Taiwan as ships struggle to avoid military action in the 100-mile-wide strait that separates the island from the mainland.

China claims the island, which has a thriving tech industry hub.

In protest, it imposed sanctions against Pelosi and cut off defence and climate change negotiations with the US.

Furious, the Chinese president Xi Jinping ordered this action, ignoring warnings from America that any mistake could lead to a World War Three conflict with America.

Beijing branded Pelosi’s visit as a “gross interference”Its internal affairs.

Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, reacted to China’s reaction “flagrantly provocative”.
