Channel 4 has promoted Alisa and Shaminder Nahal, factual commissioners, to take over the management of its specialist factual teams and documentaries.
Former Head of Documentaries and Specialist Factual Horan’s role has been split into two, with Pomeroy taking on documentaries and Nahal specialist factual. Both were with the Neverland is gone Broadcaster for many decades, with credits including Jade: The Reality Star That Changed Britain Pomeroy, and Grayson’s Art Club Nahal. Two people previously held the role before Fatima Salaria joined Fremantle indie Naked.
Both Pomeroy and Nahal will report to Ian Katz, Chief Content Officer, and Louisa Compton, Head of News and Current Affairs and Specialist Factual Louisa Compton.
Pomeroy: “The media landscape has changed unrecognisably since I came to Channel 4, but there’s everything to play for and I’m lucky enough to be inheriting an extraordinarily talented team of Commissioning Editors.”
Nahal also added: “There isn’t a better time to be taking on the most challenging and fascinating stories and questions in history, culture and science in the boldest possible way.”
Horan, who had held the post for three-years, announced his departure late last year. Horan was connected with the vacant BBC Factual and Arts Director job. Patrick Holland is moving to Banijay.
