Tonight’s Celebrity Jeopardy! featured Ike Barinholtz facing comedian Iliza and Marvel actor Simu LIU.

The fourth installment of this spinoff was the first semi-final match, with all three players returning having won their previous matches.

One clue read: “This battery mascot that’s been going and going since the late 1980s has entered the Oxford English Dictionary to mean something or someone persistent.”

Iliza confidently buzzed into: “What is: The Duracell rabbit?”

“No,”Mayim quickly brought her down before she became mad.

Simu buzzed in, and correctly stated: “What is: the Energizer Bunny.”

“That’s it,”The host said that Iliza wasn’t moving on, but he didn’t know why.

Iliza crossed her arms over her face. “Am I from Mars?”She exclaimed, taking a break from the game to let out.

Entertainment is the most popular genre.

“Who has even said Duracell in the last decade, how old am I?”The contestant continued. Mayim giggled, but didn’t keep going.

Simu said that Duracell is getting too much attention right now, and Simu disagreed with him.

“That’s some free advertising right there.”

Iliza continued to drum forward, turning her error into a comedy schtik. “Can I get a free bathrobe and some denture – oil?”

The comic then literally disappeared behind her podium. She waved goodbye to her as she stayed hidden for awhile.

‘BRAND INSIDE JEOPARDY’

Ken Jennings, 48, is hosting regularly airing Jeopardy! until January.

However, viewers at home are becoming frustrated by the lack of seriousness in the Mayim-hosted weekly special.

“They’re cheapening the Jeopardy! brand,”One viewer slammed Facebook.

“I’m not impressed with this year’s tournament, watched half of the first episode and turned it off,”Unfortunately, he wrote another.

The third author wrote: “I’m really disappointed that this is the best they could do for a ‘celebrity’ edition when they couldn’t even bring in proper people.”

Next week, the slate is clean. Three rounds of three stars will battle it out. Then, they will each go to their semi-finals and then finally to the finals.

‘WE KNOW’

Celebrity Jeopardy has received mixed reviews from show executives. Since its launch in late September, it has received mixed reviews.

Executive Producer Mike Davies – who scored the game show’s top gig in 2021 after the disgraced Mike Richards was ousted – was recently joined by former “Clue Crew” member Sarah Foss on their weekly podcast.

EP Davies said, “Episode Two of Celebrity Jeopardy!” [in particular], I think we’d characterize that as one of the more polarizing episodes at least I’ve been involved with.

“All of it was loved by my family members and friends.

“[But] There are certain people on Twitter who didn’t enjoy the episode.”It was the one with Iliza.

“Some of the suggestions, ‘we shouldn’t have done a tournament,’ ‘we should have done… half-hour shows.'”

Sarah, producer, buzzed in “Longtime fans want to play this like its the regular show. [At least] Ike Barinholtz [from episode three] was a real fan.”

The tournament-based spinoff will be worth $1M for the charity chosen by the winner.

“MORE LIKE SNL”

In the September 25th premiere, actor Simu, 33, faced Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim, 34, and Andy Richter who had done quite well when the Celebrity edition was hosted by Alex.

In a wild finish, Simi claimed victory in an upset after trailing way behind frontrunner Andy for much of the game.

However, the comedy began to take root.

Reggie Watts revealed that he has only ever seen SNL parodies in the second episode. This was the moment when fans thought the spinoff was one.

The trio were asked to identify the landmark replica of Paris, Las Vegas at 540 feet tall.

Eddie said, “the Statue of Liberty”Iliza said it all. “Paris”Reggie stated, “Tour Eiffel.”

Host Mayim bursted out laughing in frustration at their answers, saying it was the Eiffel Towel – at first she didn’t realize Reggie had given the correct answer in French, perRolling Stone.

He was then granted the points shortly thereafter.

‘DISRESPECTFUL to ALEX?

Celebrity Jeopardy! The show was first broadcast in 1992. The final showdown took place on May 15, 2015.

The special has only previously been hosted by the late Alex, who passed away in 2020 and wasn’t structured to last months, or be an hour long with the new Triple Jeopardy! Like this one.

Alex was able to create lineups that were so beautiful and yet low-stakes that it became almost as popular as the regular show.

2015’s was won by football player Aaron Rodgers (who also took a turn at guest-hosting the show in 2020) and he defeated Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank and retired astronaut, Senator Mark Kelly.
