Celebrities and colaborators pay tribute to Meat Loaf with “A Legend”

The news of Meat Loaf’s death at 74 years old on Thursday prompted a torrent of tributes from friends and colleagues on social media.

“Had So Much Fun With Meatloaf When We Did ‘Dead Ringer,” Cher tweets Thursday. “Am Very Sorry For His Family,Friends,& Fans. Am I imagining It, or Are Amazing Ppl In The Arts Dying every other Day?”

“I am shocked & saddened by the sudden death of Meat Loaf,” singer Bonnie Tyler wrote. “He was, as you might imagine, a larger than life character with a voice & stage presence to match & is one of those rare people who truly was a one off talent and personality.” Tyler’s chart-topping 1983 single “Total Eclipse of the Heart”Jim Steinman, a frequent collaborator of Meat Loaf, wrote and produced the song. He died in April.
