Borscht Belt Comedian Who Appeared In Film, TV And Clubs Was 85

Freddie Roman, a Borscht Belt legend whose humor was a regular at Friars Club roasts as well as a staple in large nightclubs across the country, has passed away aged 85. His daughter reported that he suffered a heart attack in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Roman was a comedian for many years. He is a trusted joker who has worked in many rooms in Las Vegas as well as other large cities.

He participated regularly in Comedy Central roasts and took some wacks at Hugh Hefner Drew Carey Rob Reiner, Jerry Stiller, Jerry Stiller, Hugh Hefner, Chevy Chase and others.

Roman was born in New York City and had the opportunity to host a party at Crystal Spring Hotel in Catskills when he was 15. This venue belonged to his grandfather and uncle.

He worked the area for a time, then left show business to work for his father’s shoe store. That didn’t last long, and Roman returned to comedy.

Roman was seen in the movies Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resort (2012), The Last Laugh (2006), Bittersweet Place (2005), Christ in the City (2005), North 1998 Sweet Lorraine (1987).

In addition to guest shots, he appeared on TV. Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Tonight Show And Red Oaks Amazon is one of the many options.

Also, in 2003, he appeared on Broadway as Catskills.

Ethel Levin, his wife and Judi Levin, are survivors.
