Boris Johnson summons the ARMY to give ‘crucial’ booster jabs to save Christmas

BORIS Johnson told Brits today that it was “crucial”Everyone is encouraged to come forward to receive their booster shots against the Omicron variant.

The PM claimed that the third dose of the drug will provide more protection from the mutant strain. He also stressed the need for no additional Covid restrictions.

He also suggested that the Army was now available to assist in accelerating the booster program from 2.5 million to 3,000,000 doses per week.

He stated, “The answer is always to get a booster. You will be protected more if you get vaccinated with the booster.

“What we should do is defer the seeding Omicron in this nation. We don’t believe there is any reason to change the overall guidelines for how people should live.

The third shot was given by the PM, who will receive his booster jab later this week. “can give you a lot of protection against all types of the virus”.

He also added: “We think that is overwhelmingly likely at any rate, so the crucial thing is for everybody now to come out and get your boosters.”

During the visit, he was asked about Moderna boss Stephane Baccel’s comments regarding a probable “material drop”Omicron is a vaccine that has high effectiveness.

He claimed that the chief of vaccines was “probably right”But it does not mean that vaccines will be rendered ineffective.

Increasing rollout

The PM stated that “He’s certainly not saying that these vaccines are ineffective against serious illnesses or death.”

They may not be as effective at preventing transmission.

“We see evidence from South Africa, that Omicron is transmitted among people who have been vaccinated.

“But it’s not clear to what extent this means that you’re going to get a severe case of Omicron.”

The PM stated that he was confident. “the NHS, all the volunteers, the Army, everybody can rise to the challenge”to combat the new variant.

He also added: “Is it going to be hard work? Yes it is, but I know people can do it.”

Boris will announce today a significant ramping up in the booster rollout, which will dramatically increase the weekly rate for jabs being delivered into arms.

The PM is set to announce new plans for reopening pop-up vaccine centres across the country. Brits will be able to walk in to these centres without needing an appointment.

He plans to add rocket boosters to the programme and increase doses per week from 2.5 to 3.5 Million.

Ministers believe that an increase in top-up shots will help to keep Omicron at bay and provide Brits with an additional layer of protection.

Boris will reiterate today’s restrictions at a No10 press conference. “proportionate and responsible”.

He will say they’re necessary to “buy us time in the face of this new variant” while scientists discover more about how dangerous it is.
