Black News Channel Accused by Gender Discrimination, Sexist’ Workplace by 13 Women In Lawsuit

Staff members accuse the network for unfair pay and a misogynistic work culture.

Thirteen women sued the Black News Channel over gender discrimination. The Florida-based network is accused of paying unequal wages to female employees and creating a work environment that makes it impossible for them to do their jobs. “to conform to sexist or misogynistic stereotypes about how women are supposed to behave.”

The 13 plaintiffs filed an amended complaint Tuesday in Cook County, Illinois Circuit Court. They allege that the 2-year-old network’s executives fired or disciplined female employees who were too pushy, aggressive, and created a hostile environment at work. Women were paid thousands less than their male counterparts.
