Berlin Film Festival unveils its Competition Line-Up. Follow Live

The 72nd Berlin International Film Festival will be announcing its Competition lineup this morning at 11:15 CET. Please refresh this page to receive the latest updates.

Mariette Rissenbeek, Executive Director, and Carlo Chatrian, Artistic Director, will host a presentation. They will confirm the line-ups of the Encounters Special and Berlinale Special programs as well as more information about the event, which takes place February 10-20.

Today’s announcement included the Competition line-up. It featured films by Bertrand Bonello and Peter Strickland.

With films by Andrew Dominik, Dario Argento and other Berlinale Specials, the program was also complete.

Due to uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the fest has modified its format for 2022. The European Film Market has gone online. However, the festival continues with an in-person event. Each premiere screening takes place within the first six day of the event. The award ceremony will be held on February 16.

Other tweaks include the limitation of cinema capacity to 50%, the mandatory use of masks and Covid pass, and the ban on festival parties. Learn more about the changes.
