Royal Family Angered by BBC Princes Doc
Members of the Royal Family are reported to be threatening to boycott the BBC over a documentary set to air tonight about Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship with the press. According to the UK’s Daily Mailthe Royal Family has been angered by the BBC’s refusal to show them The Princes and the PressThey have indicated that they will not be cooperating in future projects, before the documentary airs tonight. According to reports, they fear that the documentary will depict the two princes, one living in LA, discussing against each other. A BBC spokesperson stated: “The programme is about how royal journalism is done and features a range of journalists from broadcast and the newspaper industry.” The BBC’s relationship with the Royal Family is already strained following the Martin Bashir / Princess Diana scandal that re-erupted earlier this year.
‘Belfast’Stockholm FF Award Winner
Kenneth Branagh’sBelfasthas picked up the Audience Award at the 2021 Stockholm International Film Festival. The film, based on Branagh’s personal experiences of growing up in the Northern Irish capital in the late 1960s, screened at the fest last week and the filmmaker was in town to also pick up an honorary Achievement Award from the fest.Belfastcontinues to be hotly-tipped as a major awards contender this year.
BBC To Celebrate Dance
Next year, the BBC will air a celebration on dance with a focus on Wayne McGregor and Carlos Acosta as well as Crystal Pite, Crystal Pite, and the Matsena Brothers. An animator will lead the season.ImagineMcGregor is a dance pioneer and McGregor will perform a special performance. BBC Young Dancer 2022 Clara Amfo hosted the event and a Dance Passion BBC iPlayer celebrates a collaboration between One Dance UK and BBC iPlayer. Channel 4 Extends ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’ into 2022
Channel 4 has re-commissioned their lunchtime format Steph’s Packed LunchTo air until 2022. The first episode aired as The Steph Show It was forced to close down in the middle of 2020 due to pandemic conditions. According to C4, it has grown its audience by doubling the average share to 3.2% since returning to summer recess. Steph McGovern will continue hosting throughout 2022 with special guests and returning faces.
