I mean, I’m clearly posting this partly to include that photo ofJuliette LewisandChristina Riccifrom “Yellowjackets” (although the entire cast is killer — LITERALLY — bad ass). I can’t get the theme song out of my head. I have weird dreams that touch on the show. It has had quite an impact on me.

But that’s just part of the news coming out of this year’s WGA nominations. “Only Murders in the Building,” “Hacks,” “Loki” and “Yellowjackets” are among the top nominees for this year’s Writers Guild Awards, announced on Jan. 13. Winners will be honored at a joint 2021 Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

The nominationsStarting at the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) include outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2021.

“Only Murders”With three nominations including comedy, new series, and comedy episodic, Comedy was the leader of the WGA tally. Two nominations were received by shows “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Loki,” “The Morning Show,” “Succession,” “Yellowjackets,” “Hacks,” “Reservation Dogs,” “Bob’s Burgers” “The Simpsons.”HBO topped all networks with nine, or 12 if you add HBO Max; followed by Apple TV Plus and FX, Hulu. NBC, Netflix, NBC, Hulu. NBC, Netflix, PBS all had six. If you add promotional writing, CBS received six.
