The lawsuit also claimed that the information had been used to target US citizens during Donald Trump’s and Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Although the social media site has denied the claims, it agreed recently to pay the settlement.
How to submit a Facebook Class Action Lawsuit

- Enter your name, full address, contact number and email.
- You can enter any email addresses, phone number or usernames associated with the Facebook account you have between May 24, 2007 to December 22, 2022.
- You can choose the way you want to receive your payment. You can choose from Mastercard, PayPal Venmo Direct Deposit or Zelle.
- Once filled, select ‘Submit.’
Remember that the deadline for filing this claim is August 25, 2023, at 11:59 PM PT.
Who can claim the benefit of this claim?
Anyone in the United States who has used Facebook between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2020, may file a claim.
Anyone who has deleted a Facebook account or accounts before creating another one during the time frame is eligible for filing.
It is not clear how much money people will receive from the settlement. This depends on many factors, such as whether or not people have made a claim and the total amount of Facebook usage between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2012.
When will the hearing be held?
The hearing will take place at 13:00 PDT on Saturday, September 7, in 2023. This hearing is to determine if to approve or reject the settlement. It will also check to see if anyone has any objections.
Once the court has given final approval to the settlement, and resolved all appeals submitted, the amount of the payout will be determined.
