Finding your way around a new city can be frustrating, particularly if there is no public Wi-Fi or poor signal.
Waqas has provided valuable advice to help travelers get the most out of Google Maps, without needing to worry about data charges or internet access.
The man explained that the map can be downloaded from any location you choose, whether you are at your hotel or elsewhere with stable internet access. This will help you to get to your destination.
After it has been downloaded, you will have access to the map without internet.
The app will still display your current location as well as nearby attractions, restaurants and travel routes.
The reason is that the GPS on your phone which tracks where you are, uses satellite link, and not any internet or phone signal.
Google Maps does not require the internet to create maps that are based on GPS data.
The app will still function if it is downloaded in advance.
If the geographic layout of your destination is not drastically different when you get out of the lobby of the hotel, the map should still provide a good guide for your surroundings.
Waqas said: “One problem travelers have is that when they arrive in a new place, either Wi-Fi has been cut off or SIM cards have not been activated. They feel lost and confused in public places.”
“This is a hack that you can use to find your place in any city, any country without any internet.”
It comes after a TikTok user called Jessica shared a similar Google Maps trick to help people plan their holidays.
Waqas also suggested that personalized maps can be made with the details of your vacation destination.
It allows holidaymakers to check their bucket list as they travel around different cities.
