You don’t need a large iPhone or small hands to use this trick.
It will totally change how you use your handset – and is perfect if you struggle to reach the top of the screen.

This is especially true when you are using a giant 6.7-inch device like the iPhone 13 Pro Max single-handed.
Thankfully, Apple thought of a solution years ago: Reachability.
The little-knowniPhonefeatures lets you quickly shift the top of the screen down.
This makes it easier to access the top of the display.
The hack was shared in a TikTok clip by@appledsign(who recently told Central Recorder his favourite iPhone tricks) where it racked up thousands of likes.
Apple claims: “When you use iPhone with one hand in Portrait orientation, you can use Reachability to lower the top half of the screen so it’s within easy reach of your thumb.”
It has been in use for years so it is likely that your iPhone supports it.
It will require an iPhone 6 or higher, but any core model that was launched in 2014 or later will be compatible.
Turn it on by going to Settings and looking for Accessibility.
Next, tap Touch and toggle on Reachability.
How do you use Reachability? It all depends upon your iPhone model.
If you’re using an iPhone with Face ID, you’ll want to swipe down on the bottom edge of the screen.
Double-tap your iPhone’s Home button to access it.
You can return to full-screen mode by tapping the upper half the screen.
There’s one more thing…
You can also use the other features of your iPhone to one-handedly use it.
There’s also a way to quickly shrink the keyboard – to make keys easier to reach.
You first need to open the app that you wish to use and ensure the keyboard is visible.
Then look in the bottom left hand corner and touch and hold the emoji face or world symbol.
You can hold the emoji (or world symbol) down to make a small gesture. “Keyboard Settings”Box should appear, and in the bottom row will be three keyboard symbols.
Tap the symbol to the right to access a keyboard you can use only your left hand to type.
To get a keyboard with just your right, tap on the symbol.
After you are done using your one-handed keyboard, you can go back to normal by pressing the bottom corner emoji/world symbol and then selecting the middle keyboard option.
